About the Church

Hampton Methodist Church is a friendly and welcoming church. We are a member of the Teddington Methodist Circuit and have a membership of about 70 people of all ages. We sing a mixture of old, traditional and new songs and hymns, led by our music group, which consists of keyboard, percussion, woodwind and guitar.

Services

Our Sunday morning service takes place at 10:30am and lasts approximately one hour, including a short sermon. From September 2008 we will have a new leader at Hampton Methodist Church - Pastor Ben Haslam. Services may be led by Ben, one of the two ministers in our local group of churches, a trained local preacher, or a visiting preacher.

Evening Services

Occasionally we hold an evening service at 6:30pm, which tends to be quieter in nature. It is usually once a quarter, jointly with the other local Methodist churches. Click on the preaching plan (below) for further details. Alternatively, check the notice board outside the church to confirm the venue and for further details.

Communion

Once a month, we hold Holy Communion, which celebrates the intimate last meal that Jesus shared with his disciples, and which as Christians, we share joyfully with each other and the world. Everyone, regulars and visitors alike are welcome to take communion, receive a blessing or stay seated.

All Age Worship/Children's Sunday Club

On the first Sunday of every month we hold an All-Age Service, which is aimed at children (although is suitable for all ages!) These services are designed to convey the Christian message across in an accessible and inspiring way. At other services, during term-time, children are invited to join Discovery Club in the large hall where they can enjoy arts & crafts, games and quizzes on a Biblical theme.

Creche

For very young children, the creche at the rear of the church offers a large selection of books, soft toys, games and puzzles. Alternatively, children are most welcome to sit in church and join in the service.

Loop System

The church is fitted with a loop system for the hard of hearing and there is full disabled access.

Welcome

All our Sunday services are followed by refreshments in the church hall where you will have the chance to meet members of the congregation and enjoy a warm welcome. Usually once a month there is a Fair Trade stall with products such as coffee, tea, biscuits and chocolate on sale.

House Groups

During the week, house groups meet on a fortnightly basis. There are three groups, one of which meets in the afternoon and the others in the evening, in members homes. They meet for 1½-2 hours of discussion, fellowship, bible study and prayer.
